About Artepharm Co.

Artepharm Co. was founded in 2004 with the primary mandate to complete the development of an inexpensive, fast-acting, effective artemisinin-based anti-malarial drug. The company is a modern PRC China-based pharmaceutical company that was jointly established by a group of medical experts – headed by Prof. Li Guoqiao as chief scientist – and specializes in the research of Qinghao (Artemisia annua L), artemisinin-based antimalarials and antiviral traditional Chinese medicines from Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Guangdong New South Group.

Artepharm Co. is supported by Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which is world-renowned for its expertise in Chinese medicine research. The university provides a solid foundation for the continuous development of both the company and its leading-edge therapeutics. The Guangdong New South Group is a large corporation with extensive property holdings in real estate and hotels, as well interests in the modernization of traditional Chinese medicine. The company also provides financial support to Artepharm Co..

Artepharm Co. is also focused on the research, development and marketing of artemisinin, artemisinin-based therapy (ACT), antiviral herbal medicines and health food. The Artemisinin Industrialization Project includes artemisinin plantations, extraction and processing, R&D, manufacturing and marketing.

Since its inception in 2004, Artepharm Co. has achieved a number of breakthroughs in new drug research and development, international drug registration and new methods of malaria eradication. These include:

  • The fourth generation of artemisinin-based combination – Artequick® (ATQ) – has been granted approval by the State Food and Drug Administration in China
  • Artequick® (ATQ) has now been approved for sale in 12 malaria endemic countries around the world
  • Artepharm Co.’s FEMSE program (Fast Elimination of Malaria at Source Eradication) was successfully deployed in Cambodia and the Comoros and the company has an extremely inexpensive and very effective therapy for the global eradication of malaria.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has stated that ACTs are the most effective antimalarial drug treatments currently available. Artepharm Global Corp.’s focus is to make their patented, quick-acting, highly effective, low toxic and extremely affordable ACT – Artequick® the front-line antimalarial drug in malaria-endemic areas including Southeast Asia, South Asia, Africa, Central America and South America.
