Artepharm Co. was founded in 2004 with the primary mandate to complete the development of an inexpensive, fast-acting, effective artemisinin-based anti-malarial drug. The company is a modern PRC China-based pharmaceutical company that was jointly established by a group of medical experts – headed by Prof. Li Guoqiao as chief scientist – and specializes in the research of Qinghao (Artemisia annua L), artemisinin-based antimalarials and antiviral traditional Chinese medicines from Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Guangdong New South Group.

Artepharm Co. is supported by Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which is world-renowned for its expertise in Chinese medicine research. The university provides a solid foundation for the continuous development of both the company and its leading-edge therapeutics. The Guangdong New South Group is a large corporation with extensive property holdings in real estate and hotels, as well interests in the modernization of traditional Chinese medicine. Artepharm Co. is also focused on the research, development and marketing of artemisinin, artemisinin-based therapy (ACT), antiviral herbal medicines and health food.
