Products that compete with Artequick® come from include a number of international pharmaceutical giants as well as some Chinese pharmaceutical companies.

• Novartis – received WHO recommendation for its Coartem product, which is currently in mainstream channels and has the majority share of the global market in artemisinin-based antimalarial drugs.
• France Sanofi – Prequalification has been received by WHO for developing countries.
• Anti-malarial drug manufacturers in India and Vietnam – a few companies produce and sell anti-malarial drugs in India and Vietnam and two companies in India having passed the WHO’s prequalification.
• Guilin Pharmaceutical – a Chinese company and subsidiary of Shanghai Fuxing is the only domestic pharmaceutical company passing the prequalification of WHO.
• Holley Holding – a specialized marketing company sells anti-malarial drugs in Africa.
• Other domestic companies mainly provide artemisinin-based raw materials for drug distributors or OEMs in western countries.
